You and your colleagues develop the first working time machine. You’re selected for the first trip, and you travel one week into the future. When you emerge from the time machine, you see the lab where you work has been trashed and no one is around. You find a message written on the wall over your desk: You’re next. What’s going on?

The Superpower

Use the following writing prompt to inspire you.

You’re cleaning your house when you spill chemicals on you. Worried, you call poison control and go to the emergency room, where the doctors see no ill side effects. They release you, so you return home. When you wake up the next morning, you discover you have a new superpower. What is it, and how do you use it?

The Enemy

Use the following writing prompt to inspire you.

You live in a world where your significant other can’t hurt you in any way. You’re fighting in a battle, and the bullet from your enemy’s gun ricochets off your chest. What just happened?
