The Time Machine

Use the following writing prompt to inspire you.

You and your colleagues develop the first working time machine. You’re selected for the first trip, and you travel one week into the future. When you emerge from the time machine, you see the lab where you work has been trashed and no one is around. You find a message written on the wall over your desk: You’re next. What’s going on?

Time Travel

Use the writing prompt below to write a scene.

You wake up in the street and don’t recognize your surroundings. The streets are dirt and the buildings are all constructed out of wood. A man in a cowboy hat and chaps rides by on a horse while a woman in a long, cotton dress and wide-brimmed hat enters a store with a sign overhead announcing, “General Store.” Where are you, and how did you get there?
