The America that we all know no longer exists. You are one of the few who survived a nuclear war. The fallout is intense – the land and everything you know has been destroyed. How do you survive from day to day? Do you find others who can help you, or is it every man for himself?
This week’s writing prompt was inspired by the celebration of the United States of America’s Independence Day on July 4.
When listening to the news, we hear about all the negative things about our country. Let’s focus on the positive today. Make a list of five reasons you’re grateful to live in the United States, and then expand each reason into a paragraph to explain why you chose it.

You spend your first night in the cutest little house on stilts, and you step out on the deck in the morning, excited to spend the day on the beach. You stop and stare in surprise. There is no beach, only water. Your cute little house on stilts is now in the middle of the ocean, with no land in sight. What happened, and how do you get back?
