Celebrating Our Freedoms

Use the writing prompt below to inspire you:

Women of the Revolutionary War

In the U.S., we celebrate Independence Day every year on July 4. Use the following writing prompt to inspire you.

Some even dressed as men and fought alongside their male counterparts. You were one of these women. What role did you choose? What were the conditions like?

Independence Day

This week’s writing prompt was inspired by the celebration of the United States of America’s Independence Day on July 4.

When listening to the news, we hear about all the negative things about our country. Let’s focus on the positive today. Make a list of five reasons you’re grateful to live in the United States, and then expand each reason into a paragraph to explain why you chose it.

Celebrating Independence Day

Use the writing prompt below to write a scene.

To celebrate Independence Day on July 4th, you attend a fireworks spectacular with a group of your friends. As the sound of fireworks begins to die down, you hear one more sharp retort, but don’t see the fireworks light up the sky. Thinking it must have been a dud, you turn to see one of your friends writhing in pain on the ground, a gunshot wound in her shoulder. Who wanted to hurt (possibly kill) your friend, and why? And how do you find the answers to those questions?
