A Month of Gratefulness

This month, we’re going to focus on the theme of gratefulness. The holiday season often brings out the best in us as we remember to be kind to others and to give thanks for everything and in all circumstances. Each writing prompt this month will bring your attention to the act of thankfulness, so make sure you check back each week for a new writing prompt!

The Walk

Use the following writing prompt to inspire you to write a scene.

You take your dog for a walk, and about halfway through, your phone dings with a text message: “I’m watching you.” You look around, but the only person you see is a woman going in the opposite direction from you. You continue on your way, but feel uneasy. Your phone dings with another message: “Don’t look behind you.” Who is following you? And what do you do?

Scary Movie

Use the following writing prompt to write a scene.

You and your significant other watch one of the scariest movies you’ve ever seen. About a week after you watch the movie together, strange things start happening. You realize that scenes from the movie are playing out in real life all around you. What’s happening to you, and how do you make it stop?
